In 1919 the Hall brothers (Their company, Hallmark.) designed and manufactured their own (and first) giftwrap. They offered ribbons for wrapping next, in the 1930's. Then, in Hallmark's 1958 promo film "The Art Of Gift Wrapping" a "gift wrap stylist" introduced big bows on boxes which became an instant and enduring hit.
